Many patients who start EECP treatment were surprised , when they shared the information that the cardiologist not recommended or even mentioned about this treatment to them . When they ask for the options, other than bypass surgery and angioplasty ( for them these patient should speak to the cardiologist about EECP treatment). If it is not mentioned, they should have the rights to ask, why EECP is not recommended to them or why the benefits and risk of EECP treatment is not discussed with them, since its an approved treatment recommended in the guidelines. It is the responsibility of each cardiologist and cardiothoracic surgeon, Should inform the patient about the availability of treatment called EECP if the patient is not willing or unable to go for these invasive procedure like bypass and angioplasty. EECP should be always an option. which they should discuss with the patients. If EECP is not discussed then the consultation is bias towards invasive procedures .
