World Heart Day Celebration at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital Chennai was held on 27th September 2013 at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital Chennai. The event was organized by the Cardiology Department of Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital as part of the World Heart Day awareness program, bringing together healthcare professionals and dignitaries to highlight the importance of cardiovascular health.
The function was attended by Honourable Health Minister K. C. Veeramani, Dr. V. Kanagasabai, Dean of Madras Medical College, and Dr. V. E. Dhandapani. Dr. S. Ramasamy, Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiology and Director of Vaso Meditech Pvt Ltd, also participated in the event.
Dr. S. Ramasamy had also assisted with the Hypertension Trial based on Central Blood Pressure conducted at the Government General Hospital Chennai. The initiative focused on improving awareness and understanding of hypertension, cardiovascular risk, and the importance of accurate blood pressure assessment in cardiac care.
