World Congress of Cardiology Dubai

World Congress of Cardiology Dubai 2012 was held in Dubai from 18th to 21st April 2012, bringing together leading cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, researchers, and healthcare professionals from around the world. During the congress, EECP received special attention during a lecture presented by eminent Indian American heart surgeon Dr. Mukesh Hariawala, who was based at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Hariawala presided as Chairman of the Cardiac Surgery Session, where discussions focused on the future of cardiovascular treatment and emerging approaches in cardiac care. He highlighted the potential of novel cellular therapies and their ability to contribute toward making advanced cardiac treatment more affordable in the future.

During his presentation, Dr. Hariawala also pointed out that there remained a significant group of patients who, based on their clinical and diagnostic assessment, were unlikely to benefit sufficiently from conventional procedures such as Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting CABG or angioplasty and stent procedures.

The attention given to EECP at the World Congress of Cardiology reflected the growing international interest in non invasive approaches to cardiac care. Enhanced External Counterpulsation has been studied as a treatment option for selected patients with chronic cardiac conditions, particularly those who require appropriate alternatives or additional approaches to conventional cardiac procedures.

The World Congress of Cardiology Dubai 2012 therefore provided an important international platform for discussing the future of cardiovascular treatment and the potential role of innovative and non invasive cardiac therapies in improving access to heart care.
