Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Specialty Hospital EECP Started marked an important development in non invasive cardiac care in Chennai. Enhanced External Counterpulsation treatment was started at the Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Specialty Hospital, Omandurar, Chennai, under a Public Private Partnership with Vaso Meditech Pvt Ltd, Chennai on 3rd April 2015.
The introduction of EECP therapy at the Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Specialty Hospital provided an opportunity to expand awareness about non invasive cardiac treatment among eligible patients. The program focused on the clinical use of Enhanced External Counterpulsation and appropriate patient selection following medical evaluation.

EECP THERAPY uses a proprietary technology to inflate and deflate a series of pneumatic cuffs enclosing the lower extremities of the patients. Treatment is administered on a padded table in which three sets of electronically controlled inflation and deflation valves are located.
