Coimbatore Coimbatore Medical College Hospital introduced the non invasive cardiac treatment known as Enhanced External Counter Pulsation, commonly called EECP, for patients suffering from angina, chest pain, and other chronic heart ailments. The procedure offers an effective alternative treatment for heart patients by improving blood circulation and reducing cardiac symptoms without the need for surgery or hospitalization. With this advancement, Coimbatore Medical College Hospital became the second government hospital in Tamil Nadu after Madras Medical College to provide EECP therapy for coronary artery disease and related cardiac conditions. CMCH Dean Dr R Vimala stated that the treatment would help patients receive advanced heart care through a safe and non surgical approach that supports faster recovery and improved quality of life. The introduction of EECP at a government institution reflects the increasing recognition of this therapy among leading heart centers and healthcare providers for managing chronic heart disease and enhancing long term cardiovascular wellness.
