Chennai, 08th September 2015 Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Dr J Jayalalithaa inaugurated Enhanced External Counter Pulsation treatment through video conferencing, marking an important step in expanding access to advanced non invasive cardiac care for patients across the state. The treatment was introduced under the Chief Minister Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme, enabling cardiac patients to benefit from affordable and effective heart care services. During the event, Prof Dr Palaniswamy presented the role of Enhanced External Counter Pulsation in clinical cardiology, while Dr S Ramasamy delivered a presentation on the current status, clinical outcomes, and recommendations of EECP therapy in modern cardiac treatment. The program highlighted the growing importance of EECP therapy for coronary artery disease as a safe and proven non surgical treatment option for patients suffering from angina, poor circulation, and chronic heart conditions. The initiative also strengthened awareness about specialized heart centers and advanced cardiac wellness programs offering EECP treatment under government supported healthcare schemes for improved patient care and quality of life.
